Countless glittering fairy lights surrounding magnificent St. Paul's Church give this Christmas village a distinctive festive flair. At this most magical time of year, when the air is filled with the aromas of roasted almonds, glühwein and other festive treats, the market becomes the focal point of the town. At the centre of it all is an ice rink, where you can skate in the open-air and watch winter-themed events. There are so many stalls to browse offering all kinds of festive delights from delicious Christmas crêpes, hot rum punch and Christmas cookies to carved wooden gifts from the Erzgebirge. Highlights include the high-calibre Advent concerts at St. Paul's Church and the Nativity scene by the entrance, which tells the Christmas story to all who pass and features real animals at weekends.
