Freiburg Christmas market in the heart of the beautiful old quarter is a delight for young and old. Traditional arts and crafts on offer include hand-blown glass art and wooden toys, and there is also a candle workshop. Tempting aromas of glühwein, bratwurst and honey gingerbread drift through the town's beautifully illuminated lanes. Children can bake their own treats in the Christmas bakery and make and paint lanterns in the Land of Lights.
