Würzburg's Christmas market, one of the prettiest and most atmospheric in Germany, is set against the picturesque backdrop of the market square with Falkenhaus mansion and St. Mary's Chapel. Discover authentic, locally made items and enjoy seasonal food and drink in friendly and traditional surroundings. An artists' Christmas market is held at weekends in the town hall courtyard. Journey back to bygone days at the medieval Christmas market at Marienberg Citadel, which features a Nativity play from the 14th century. To round off the festive experience, there are events such as exhibitions, concerts and plays, and the historical St. Nicholas tram.
