Amid the medieval surroundings of Hauptmarkt square and in front of the mighty cathedral, 95 beautifully decorated wooden huts create an enchanting Christmas atmosphere in Germany's oldest town, renowned for its Porta Nigra gate, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Try the delicious white or red mulled wine, presented by Germany's first 'Glühwein Queen', while listening to the seasonal music of brass bands and browsing through the magnificent craft items and freshly-made regional specialities from the Christmas bakery - what better way to get into the festive spirit? The children will marvel at the giant Christmas pyramid and enjoy hearing fairytales from the storytellers.
