Christmas Markets

Festive illuminations bring to life the half-timbered facades around Celle's Christmas market in the historical old quarter. The centrepiece is a traditional Christmas pyramid rising 14 metres into the air. Around this, more than 100 wooden booths are clustered together, spilling into the narrow surrounding streets. As well as delicious festive treats, you can browse for arts and crafts, toys and a range of decorations. Then, after warming yourself up with a delicious mug of Christmas punch, it's on to the nearby medieval market. Hand-made wares, great entertainment including live music, the Christmas market for kids and the handing out of sweets on 6 December promise excitement and enchantment for all the family.
