Regensburg, the UNESCO World Heritage town on the Danube, has a trinity of Christmas markets: the Lucrecia craft market, the traditional Christkindlmarkt on Neupfarrplatz in the heart of the old town, and the 'Romantic Christmas market' at Thurn and Taxis Palace, where you can enjoy craft stalls and demonstrations. Take a stroll round them all and enjoy everything they have to offer. Concerts by the famous Regensburger Domspatzen boys' choir are a highlight of any visit.
