Quaint timber-framed huts on Alter Markt square give the traditional Christmas market in Jever a cosy, other-wordly atmosphere, and the scent of roasted almonds, sweet doughnuts, hearty bratwurst and hot punch raises festive spirits. Who can resist when there are so many delicacies to try? This is the ideal place to shop for presents, particularly on the Saturdays before Christmas when the shops stay open until 6pm. Every Sunday at 4.30pm children can meet Father Christmas. There is fun whatever the weather at the covered 300 square metre ice rink. Jever, close to the North Sea, is always an enjoyable destination.
