Christmas with Goethe and Schiller
Christmas in Weimar brings joy to the hearts of young and old: theatre for the little ones, classic tales by the town’s great poets, Christmas decorations from the Erzgebirge mountains, hand-blown glass art from Lauscha and wooden and tin toys that make superb stocking fillers. Four huge church gates mark the entrances to the Christmas market and commemorate the festival’s Christian origins. Organ music and carol singing in the churches and market square add to the festive charm of this UNESCO World Heritage town.
