Deggendorf

Deggendorf pulls out all the stops for Christmas: there are twinkling lights everywhere you look, Christmas carols fill the air and the aroma of festive treats wafts from the stalls. Held outside the old town hall and in the pedestrian area, the Christmas market with its stage and Advent calendar is just part of the seasonal enchantment. There is also a variety of Nativity scenes to discover, and, in the town museum, part of a baroque diorama that uses scenes from the bible to portray the main events of the Christian year. Why not go on a guided tour of the town hall tower with its historical living quarters? The views of Deggendorf and its snow-covered roofs are hard to beat for Christmas charm.
