158th Erfurt Christmas market
When Christmas carols ring out, the air is filled with the aromas of glühwein and gingerbread, and the shops and department stores are festively decorated, then it’s time for the Christmas market in Erfurt. It is held on Cathedral Square, which is lit up by a 25-metre Christmas tree. Right in the middle is the nativity scene with 14 hand-carved, almost life-size wooden figures and a fairytale forest. Let the Santas and Christmas angels whisk you off into the beautiful old quarter.
