Christmas Markets


Cologne

160 beautiful wooden pavilions against the backdrop of Cologne’s signature attraction await visitors to the Christmas market at the cathedral. Here, you can watch craftsmen at work and enjoy all manner of delicious treats. On Alter Markt square, kids can ride the carousel, catch a show at the puppet theatre and even pay a visit to Father Christmas. Neumarkt square hosts the city’s oldest Christmas market, while the one in Rudolfplatz focuses on the world of fairytales. The medieval Christmas market on the banks of the Rhine offers entertainers, minstrels and jesters. Nativity exhibitions, concerts and a wide choice of Christmas shopping are also part of the festive fun in Cologne.
