Quedlinburg

An enchanting Christmas courtyard
Christmas is celebrated in true style in this 1,000-year-old medieval town and UNESCO World Heritage site. Attention focuses on the bustle and lights of the Christmas market, where colourful wooden huts fill the market square with beautiful gifts and delicious treats. The sounds of festive music and organ recitals ring out from the churches, and every day, a new half-timbered house on Schlossberg hill open its doors to the public for the Quedlinburg Advent Calendar. Equally enticing is the Magic of Christmas, when shop windows across the town display a lovingly assembled collection of old-fashioned dolls kitchens and toy groceries.
