Spas and health resorts

View of Kaiser Wilhelm Spa with flowers in the foreground
With 32 spas and health resorts, Hessen is Germany's top spa destination. The range extends from famous spa towns such as Wiesbaden, with the Kaiser Friedrich Thermal Baths, Bad Homburg, with the Kaiser Wilhelm Spa, and Bad Wildungen with the largest spa gardens in Europe, to small, secluded wellness and health resorts such as Schlangenbad, Bad Zwesten and Bad Salzschlirf. Hessen's philosophy is to preserve traditions whilst being open to new innovations, so conventional health treatments are brought up to date, and traditional Asian therapy is cleverly combined with state-of-the-art Western medicine.
