Permanent exhibitions

Hannover History Museum
Art and culture lovers could spend many days exploring Hannover's art galleries and museums. The works by Niki de Saint Phalle on show in the Sprengel Museum are particularly popular.
History Museum
To mark Hannover's 750th anniversary, a permanent exhibition has been created tracing the development of the city from the original settlement known as "to den hogen overen" to its present incarnation as a major urban centre. The Regional History section of the museum documents the development from the principality of Calenberg in around 1600 to the end of the Kingdom of Hannover in 1866.
Wilhelm Busch Museum
The museum has 160 works by the painter, cartoonist and writer Wilhelm Busch, plus a collection of caricatures. The exhibition on the popular satirist shows his classic illustrated tales "Max und Moritz" and "Die fromme Helene" alongside works which reveal his other side as a sensitive portrait artist and landscape painter.
Niki de Saint Phalle in the Sprengel Museum
Many people come to the Sprengel Museum especially to see the works by Hannover's honorary citizen on display under the title "La Fęte". Some of the works bequeathed to the city by this French artist on her death are featured in the museum's permanent collection.
