Lake Constance

A holiday where three countries meet 

Lake Constance - which is bordered by Germany, Switzerland and Austria - is a mosaic of different landscapes: mountains in the background, vineyards and orchards, islands and deeply cut, narrow inlets.

50 beaches around the lake offer great swimming (but don't forget your swim shoes because they're mainly pebbly). The Gnadensee and Zeller See areas of the lake are relatively shallow - ideal for families and for learning to sail or windsurf. Horn beach in Constance is fun for all the family: children can splash around in the pool or let off steam in the playground whilst the adults enjoy a game of volleyball. There are also plenty of places to swim on the northern shore of the lake, including Aquastaad in Immenstaad with its fun pool, pirate ship and adventure playground. The forest and leisure park in Allensbach is both an animal park and a giant playground. Monkey Mountain in Salem has over 200 freely roaming Barbary monkeys, which visitors can feed with a special kind of popcorn.
