Special tip
Go whizzing down the hill in a toboggan on rails. The Hasenhorn Coaster toboggan run in Todtnau is approx. 3km long with lots of ups and downs, twists and bends - wonderful fun whatever the weather.

Watersports in the Black Forest

Lake Schluchsee, the biggest lake in the Black Forest, is one of the region's most popular locations for swimming and watersports. Schluchsee is a climatic health resort.

Family-friendly accommodation, great days out and, most importantly, plenty of places for kids and grown-ups to engage in their favourite watersports. The Happy Family Club offers a children's programme packed with fun and play activities in Schluchsee and at the lake. Another family attraction is the open-air Aqua Fun pool centre in Schluchsee, which has direct lake access, a giant slide, a children's area and an adventure playground. For a day away from the water, how about donkey trekking in Falkau (for children aged seven and over)? Child and donkey need to become acquainted before setting off on the guided trek, so there's grooming, cleaning and haltering to do before starting out. Or there's a gnome trail in Feldberg where young adventurers can go in search of Anton, the wood grouse. This approx. 2km trail has lovingly designed stopping-off places with gnomes, woodland figures and games on the theme of the environment. The Triberg waterfalls, among the tallest in Germany, are an amazing sight with water crashing down a total of 163 metres into the river Gutach.
