Great Goitzsche Lake and Lake Bergwitz

To the south of Wittenberg, the Elbe and Mulde rivers form a triangle of green that is part of the Düben Heath nature park. Central Germany's largest mixed forest is dotted with sparkling blue water recreation areas.

What once resembled a lunar landscape created by mining activity near Bitterfeld is now a sports, recreation and holiday area including Great Goitzsche Lake, a marina, sandy beaches and monuments to the region's industrial heritage. There are sailing lessons for children and a circular asphalt track around the lake for young inline skaters and their parents. The area around Bitterfeld has various animal enclosures that are perfect for introducing children to ponies, dwarf goats and donkeys. Lake Bergwitz between the Bauhaus town of Dessau and Lutherstadt Wittenberg is very popular with families who like to holiday in the heart of nature. To the south of the campsite and watersports park, the forests and meadows of Düben Heath are ideal for exploring by bike, on foot or on horseback.
