Brandenburg has more lakes and rivers than any other German state. The area north of Berlin offers countless ways to enjoy a water-themed holiday.


The many lakes and rivers in the "blue north" of Brandenburg are ideal for leisurely tours by houseboat or canoe. If you'd rather not captain the boat yourself, step aboard a passenger boat and discover highlights like the Ucker Lakes or Lake Ruppin. The Fontane Therme thermal pool complex at Lake Ruppin offers parents a blissful time-out: children can be entertained in the children's paradise whilst you relax in the floating lake sauna. Visitors to the Gross Schönebeck Wildlife Park in the forested Schorfheide nature reserve can enjoy big game and domestic animals in a beautiful natural setting. The animal park in Angermünde, which is laid out in parkland with majestic old trees, is home to around 250 animals of 45 species.
