Green Travel

When it comes to environmentally friendly behavior and the protection of nature, Germans are among the frontrunners in Europe. For decades, Germans have recycled and reused natural resources. In addition, they have invented intelligent systems that use wind and solar power to generate energy, lessening the impact on the environment. With 14 national parks and hundreds of nature reserves throughout the country, Germany can compete with other countries famous for ecotourism.

Apart from the protection of the environment, Germany offers a variety of attractive green products for visitors interested in green travel. Environmentally friendly accommodation is available at hotels built of organic materials, campgrounds in harmony with nature or cozy farmhouses where you can enjoy typical rural life and even contribute to the daily work of the farmers.

Activities like hiking, Nordic walking or cycling are among some of the trend sports where you can keep your carbon footprint low. Find yourself surrounded by stunning nature on well maintained cycle trails. Scenic views and picturesque villages are waiting to be discovered. Environmentally friendly architecture and green art can be found everywhere in Germany and you will be surprised how inspiring they are.

Despite the CO2 emissions your flight to Germany causes, there is now the chance to offset them by donating a voluntary amount of money to a certified carbon offset company. Your donation helps support environmental projects across the world.

Welcome to Green Destination Germany.
