Food & drink

Brandenburg specialities include the famous Spree Forest pickled gherkins, asparagus from Beelitz, Teltow turnips, Plinsen (a type of pancake) and potatoes boiled in their skins with cream cheese. You can also dine on mouthwatering fish dishes such as Havel pike-perch.
 
Alte Klosterschänke tavern
This 300 year old half-timbered building serves good old-fashioned regional cuisine in its restaurant, barn, forge and beer garden.
 
Haus Chorin hotel restaurant
In a quiet location on the edge of a wood you can dine in the hotel's Immenstube, Germany's first honey restaurant. Spicy and sweet specialities are created from over 20 different types of honey.
 
Am Schiffshebewerk restaurant, Niederfinow
This sophisticated restaurant close to the ship lift serves traditional cuisine and fish dishes.
