In the Eifel region, just like in almost all of Germany's more rural areas, people like to celebrate, and celebrate often. Tried and tested over many years of Formula 1 racing, Nürburgring's infrastructure with its campsites and ample parking makes an ideal venue for festivals. The Maars-Moselle Run in the Daun holiday region has routes to suit all abilities, while there's an extra-special atmosphere in the air when the vintage rally cars drive into Daun for the ADAC Eifel Rallye.
Rock am Ring
Rock am Ring, one of the largest music festivals in Europe, takes place every June at Nürburgring. With pop, heavy metal, punk, hip-hop, industrial and goth, this eclectic event brings together a whole variety of musical styles. Across three stages, around 100 bands play to thousands of festival-goers.
Maars-Moselle Run
Every August it's time to lace up those running shoes. This Eifel event takes runners through the largest contiguous area of maars in Europe, from Gillenfeld to Schalkenmehren and Daun.
ADAC Eifel Rallye
For once it's the cars that are the stars. At the ADAC Eifel Rallye, racing enthusiasts flock to see around 60 vintage rally vehicles spanning four decades. They transform the roads of the Volcanic Eifel around Daun into the largest mobile rally museum in the world.
