Nature & greenery

St. Wendel is tucked away in the middle of the Saar-Hunsrück nature reserve, an ideal location for getting out and exploring the outdoors. Lace up your walking boots and explore the marked trails found around the town and in the surrounding region. Wendelinus Park leisure complex is perfect for golfing fanatics, sports enthusiasts and anyone who just wants to relax and unwind. If you want to get away from it all you can also head to Lake Bostalsee, a reservoir that's renowned for its windsurfing and sailing.
 
Wendelinus Golf Park
The Golf Park in St. Wendel is one of the largest golfing complexes in Germany. Set amid gentle rolling hills on the outskirts of the town, it is a veritable paradise for any budding Tiger Woods. Golfers have plenty of opportunity to indulge in their passion with a clubhouse, driving range, putting greens, a 9-hole course for non-members and a huge 27-hole championship course.
 
Walking trails
With a total of eight marked trails close to the town, St. Wendel is an ideal base for nature lovers and walking enthusiasts. Mostly between 12 and 18km long, these paths meander over wooded hills in Saar-Hunsrück nature reserve, passing countless natural spectacles and cultural monuments. Visitors are spoilt for choice with the charm of idyllic villages sitting happily alongside untouched nature, which offers glimpses of rare plants and animals as well as providing spectacular views of the Wendeler Land region.
 
Wendelinus Park leisure complex
Situated on the outskirts of the town, this leisure park, which also includes the golfing complex, offers a wide range of leisure activities. It is home to one of the largest skate parks in Europe, which boasts among other things a 300 metre oval speed circuit, a curb box, a snakerun, a quarter pipe as well as a number of mini ramps and high ramps. The park also has a 5km asphalt running track, a wellness centre and a range of catering outlets.
