On the trail of famous figures and historical personalities

Palaces, Parks and Gardens in Germany are a reflection of centuries of fascinating history involving power, politics and prestige. They have also provided a blank canvas or a stage for many a luminary and legend. Witches, knights and saints, reformers, poets and philosophers have all come and gone, and a lot of their stories are far from fiction. Great rulers, noblewomen and venerable dynasties built and lived in the most magnificent of palaces, and turned to the greatest artists and architects of the time to transform their estates into playgrounds of pleasure where they could host extravagant ceremonies or withdraw from the world. What was once the height of decadence and a near obsession with grandeur now attracts visitors from every corner of the globe. The concept of noblesse oblige is as relevant today as it was in the past. Many of the current owners are the latest in a long lineage and devote their time to the upkeep and preservation of their family heritage. As you will see, famous figures and historical personalities have shaped the world we live in today and will continue to do so in the future.
