Green Art & Culture

German engineers have invented immense environmental technologies; and architects have created innovative and uncommon designs as contribution to an increased environmentalism during the past decades.

The building that houses the Federal Environment Agency in Dessau near Berlin is an example of one such kind of architecture. Solar and thermal technologies, intelligent air circulation and environmentally friendly substances have been integrated in its ecological construction. Frequently changing exhibitions on environmental topics and guided tours are on offer at this unique eco-building.

The Klimahaus in Bremerhaven is a specially designed interactive museum due to open in March 2009. Here you will be able to learn about climate change, weather and its impact on the earth. The well-known Deutsches Museum in Munich presents a permanent exhibition about our changing climate and gives you an insight of possible consequences as well as the history of environmentalism.
