Scenic Routes - Woodland, mountains, lakes and seas

Cycling is one of the best ways to experience the beauty and diversity of Germany's countryside while enjoying a great form of exercise.

Imagine how good it feels to have invigorating sea breezes and crystal-clear mountain air rush against your face. Picture yourself cycling through nature reserves and conservation areas whose unspoilt scenery gives way to vineyards and orchards that have been cultivated for thousands of years. From coastlines, heaths and fertile marshlands to lush pastures and densely wooded forests; from lakeland and riverbank meadows to hills, highlands and mountains. Germany - with its sheer variety of stunning natural environments - is sure to have a cycling tour that's perfect for you. Some of the best places to stop for a break are the numerous attractions and natural features on the wayside. World Heritage sites are a feature of the Rhein-Radweg (Rhine Route), which runs through the enchanting Loreley valley, while the sensational parks in the Garden Kingdom of Dessau-Wrlitz are the focus of the Frst-Pckler-Weg (Prince Pckler Route).
