Museums About the German Democratic Republic - GDR

GDR Museum, Berlin
The GDR Museum in Berlin presents the everyday life of the GDR in a lively, interactive and thrilling way. Visitors are taken on an extraordinary and interesting journey into the socialist past. A simulated Trabant journey with genuine Trabant driving noises takes you through a concrete slab housing estate. There is much more to see and experience: Open drawers and cabinets to take a look at authentic East-German household items, watch documentaries sitting on original GDR movie chairs and discover everyday commodities. Each visitor is invited to expand his knowledge in various fields and to rethink clichés - interactively, playfully, entertainingly and based on facts.
