Good just got better!

Visit Rüdesheim on the Rhine and discover its inimitable character. Naturally, this includes excellent wines, the interesting museum of mechanical musical instruments, the Rüdesheim speciality coffee served in "Drosselgasse" lane and last, but not least, an impressive trip on the Rhine, taking in the castles and the romantic river scenery. Enjoy some great days out with the "Best of Rüdesheim".


Day 1
Take a tour of discovery on the Rüdesheim Winegrower's Express railway through Rüdesheim and its vineyards, followed by a leisurely stroll through "Drosselgasse" lane to the Mechanical Music Cabinet. Afterwards, call in at the Rüdesheimer Schloss Hotel in the heart of "Drosselgasse" lane where you can enjoy first-rate wines accompanied by Rheingau tapas.

Day 2
A tour for romantics: marvel at the stunning views as you ride on the cable car from Rüdesheim to the "Germania" monument. From here, enjoy a short walk through the romantic Niederwald, stopping off along the way at "Naheblick" and "Rittersaal" vantage points, the ruins of Rossel Castle, and the enchanted cave (Zauberhöhle). Arrive at Niederwald hunting lodge before taking the cable car to Assmannshausen and then (after stopping for refreshments) travelling back to Rüdesheim by boat.

Wine Discovery Tour

Find out a host of fascinating facts about wine. Get to the roots of the Rheingau's extraordinary winemaking traditions. We'll take you back to the very origins of viniculture on a guided vineyard tour. You'll learn all about the Rhine and its vineyards, sample the wines for yourself in the warm sunshine, take a look inside the wine cellars and even discover the spirit of wine. What more could your taste buds want?


Day 1
Visit the Cistercian abbey at Eberbach - the cradle of Rheingau wine making. Enjoy a historical guided tour of the abbey, which was founded by Bernard of Clairvaux and featured in the cinema film entitled "The Name of the Rose". Visit the abbey's private wine shop and enjoy a wine tasting in the monks' cabinet cellar. Stop off for refreshments in the abbey tavern (Klosterschänke).

Day 2
Take a guided wine walk through the famous Rheingau vineyards accompanied by a highly-respected Rheingau vintner. Sample the wine in the very place where the grapes grow and enjoy some hearty specialities from the Rheingau Estate kitchen. In the afternoon, visit the Asbach centre in Rüdesheim where visitors can learn interesting facts about the production of brandy, its distillation and storage (brandy tasting included).

The Great Rheingau Tour

The Rheingau is one of Germany's most beautiful wine-growing regions. We'll take you on a tour of the many castles, palaces and abbeys that dominate this spectacular landscape. You'll learn all about this remarkable region's viniculture, and its history and stories.


Day 1
Visit Vollrads Castle Winery in Winkel. The estate has been producing wine for almost 800 years and the tradition is still going strong today. After a tour of the extensive grounds featuring a fishing pond and historical 14th century water tower, enjoy a wine tasting session in the castle's own winery, followed by dinner at the castle restaurant.   

Day 2

Arrive at Niederwald hunting lodge before taking the cable car to Assmannshausen and then travelling back to Rüdesheim by boat.

Day 4
Wine walk at the Fritz Allendorf winery in Winkel, whose founder was the president of the Rheingau wine-growing region for many years. Sample the fine wines in the vineyards beneath Vollards Castle, standing on the soil in which they grew. Afterwards, visit the estate's "Wein.Erlebnis.Welt" exhibition where you can discover the pleasure of wine with all your senses.  

Day 5
Visit the Gothic wine-growing village of Kiedrich with its 400-year-old town hall and 500-year-old St. Valentine's Church, which was built in the Gothic style and houses Germany's oldest playable organ. Then, travel to Eltville, a town famous for its wines, sparkling wines and roses, for a guided tour of the old town centre, the Prince Electors' Castle and the Gensfleisch Houses where Gutenberg once lived.
