Königswinkel
The Königswinkel (King's Corner) region around Füssen and Neuschwanstein Castle has some of Bavaria's loveliest scenery, with its mountains, the River Lech and more than ten lakes, all set in the rolling foothills of the Alps.

Zugspitze mountain
Zugspitze - Germany's highest peak (2,962m) - is 70km from Füssen and can be ascended by rack-railway and cable car. The panoramic views of the surrounding peaks are unparalleled. Culture lovers will enjoy the art exhibition in the gallery on top of the mountain.

Lake Forggensee
To the north of the town is Lake Forggensee, a large reservoir on the River Lech where visitors can enjoy a wide range of leisure activities. It is a popular destination for walkers and hikers and offers all manner of water sports, as well as being the location of the festival theatre.
