Düsseldorf
City on the Rhine famous for fashion and trade fairs

Düsseldorf, the city on the Rhine, is widely regarded as a centre for IT, communication technology, media and advertising. It is also famous for fashion: not just because of Königsallee, one of the world's most elegant shopping boulevards, but also because of the array of trade fairs and exhibitions for fashion and footwear. Also popular is the Rhine riverside promenade, renowned around the world for its beauty.

Trade fairs/exhibitions

Every year Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre hosts more than 40 trade fairs and exhibitions, 23 of which are regarded as number one internationally in their respective industries. Düsseldorf's core expertise lies primarily in the fields of machinery and equipment, medicine and health, fashion and lifestyle. "Exhibitions are windows into the future" – this is the thinking that inspires around 29,500 exhibitors every year to showcase their products to more than 1.8 million visitors.

Exhibition centres

Düsseldorf's Exhibition Centre is located in the district of Stockum, right next to the Rhine and close to the Nordpark, a park with a small zoo. It can be easily reached from the autobahns, airport, main railway station and city centre. Alongside the suburban railway (S-Bahn) connections, the three exhibition stations are served by the underground (U-Bahn) trains 78 and 79 as well as the 722 bus. Guests will find around 60,000 hotel beds in the surrounding area and the city centre is great for shopping and going out.
