Shopping

Saarbrücken old town, copyright Kongress- und Touristik Service Region Saarbrücken GmbH
Shopping is a major attraction in Saarbrücken and shopping arcades make it fun even on a rainy day. Large department stores and well-known chains allow you to shop 'til you drop.

St. Johanner Markt square
The narrow alleyways and courtyards around St. Johanner Markt square with their exclusive boutiques, art galleries and small shops are perfect for browsing and there are plenty of little bistros when you're ready for a break.

"Chinese quarter"
The area around Nauwieser Platz is known affectionately as the "Chinese quarter" and is undoubtedly Saarbrücken's most colourful district. There are shops selling eco-friendly products and organic foods, clothes and second hand goods, trendy bars, bakeries and exotic greengrocers – and the area is home to people from all over the world.

Old Saarbrücken
There is also a diverse mix of specialist shops in Old Saarbrücken or the Luisen district on the other side of the river Saar.
