Long-distance hiking path Maximiliansweg

In the year 1858, King Maximilian II undertook his famous journey accross the Alps, accompanied by a large entourage, including writers, who documented the journey in detail. The "Maximiliansweg" hiking path follows the route King Maximilian took, leading from the Allgäu region to lake Königsee. The journey takes about 14 days, during which you can follow the route of King Maximilian from Füssen to Bad Wiessee, past Eschenlohe and Lenggries and then to Fischbachau, Brannenburg, Marquartstein, Ruhpolding, Bad Reichenhall and Berchtesgaden. Along this journey, you will get to know famous mountain peaks, the most beautiful Alpine landscapes and the most fantastic viewpoints of the Bavarian Alps. A very special hiking tour for people who enjoy hiking and love nature.
