Leipzig for only $100 a Day

Spend an exciting day in Leipzig for as low as $100 including accommodation!*

In the Morning...
Travel freely within the inner city on all of Leipzig's public transportation using the Leipzig Card which also entitles you to discounts on sightseeing tours, guided walks, or in selected shops, restaurants and in the city's museums and recreational facilities. Stop by at the Leipzig Forum of Contemporary History and experience Leipzig's vibrant history first hand. St. Nicholas Church is located just around the corner. In the fall of 1989 the church became known as the venue of the Peace Prayers and the starting point of a peaceful revolution that resulted in the German Reunification.
Costs: $11.50 for the Leipzig Card and free admission to the museum and church.

For Lunch...
Grab a snack or sandwich from a corner stand in the Pedestrian Zone or at the shopping mall located in the main station, Europe's largest rail terminus. For example, try Sächsische Rostbratwurst, a crispy-grilled sausage in a roll.
Costs: $3 for lunch

In the Afternoon...
Learn more about the history of East Germany with a visit at the Stasi Museum in der Runden Ecke where a multitude of objects reminds of the surveillance and spy techniques by the former secret police. Then, see St. Thomas' Church where Johann Sebastian Bach led the Boys Choir and Martin Luther preached his ideas of the Reformation. The Choir performes every Friday at 7 pm and on Saturdays at 3 pm.
Costs: free admission to the museum and church, $3.50 fee for the concerts

In the Evening...
Barthel's Hof Restaurant serves authentic home-made Saxon cuisine and self-brewed local beer. Enjoy dining in the historical vaults dating back to 1497 or at the courtyard terrace during the summer months.
Costs: $11 for dinner using the discount of your Leipzig Card

At Night...
