Soar like an eagle

Around 800 registered paragliding centres are dotted around Germany, from Goslar in the Harz region to Garmisch-Patenkirchen in Bavaria. Schools offer tandem flights, perfect if you want to get a bird's eye view of the world. They supply all the necessary equipment, you just need to bring sturdy shoes, windproof clothing and a double dose of courage. A number of clubs offer courses for beginners. Steep slopes or ski run are used as takeoff points, but starting from level ground is also possible with strong winds. A license is required if you wish to go solo.
