Potsdam tour: "20 years since the fall of Berlin Wall "
14-May-2009 - Potsdam (Brandenburg) Guided Tour

A guided sightseeing tour of Potsdam that focuses on the history of divided Germany. Among the places you visit is Glienicke Bridge where spies were exchanged during the Cold War. After the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, the bridge became a symbol of German reunification. From this narrow crossing between Potsdam and Berlin, you have a wonderful view of the Potsdam parks and palaces that were bisected when the Wall was built.

The tour also takes you into the "forbidden city" where the KGB had its European headquarters and prison. The latter, in Leistikowstrasse, is now a museum and memorial site.

Another highlight is the tour around Cecilienhof House, where the historic Potsdam Conference took place in 1945.

Guided tour in German and English.
