There's Oktoberfest in Germany, for instance, a two-week festival and the world's largest fair that happens in late September and early October. Besides the Oktoberfest festival, the calendar in Germany ranges from high-quality concerts, art exhibitions, and theater performances to major international sporting occasions, wine festivals, and atmospheric Christmas markets. 3rd International Variete Festival
14-May-2009 - 23-May-2009 - Sennfeld, Unterfranken

Culture lovers will enjoy the 3rd International Varieté Festival in Sennfeld near Schweinfurt. From May 14th-23rd it offers world-class live music, artistry, body art and comedy. The varieté and staging artist Dirk Denzer has engaged the best artists in their field and many thousand visitors are expected to join in. The shows all follow a specific topic e.g. "Musica" - a musical varieté show, "Wasserwelten" - water worlds is all about the wet element and "Magic Moments" - an enchanting show with magic pictures. Visitors can look forward to see Avantgarde juggler Jochen Schell, Giakomo the vitreous violinist and the underwater artistry of Amazonia. Under the patronage of the former Federal Minister of Economics Michael Glos and in cooperation with the County Schweinfurt more than 100 protagonists will show fireworks of artistry for all senses in May.
