Dechen Cave and Cave Museum: one of the most beautiful stalactite and bear caves in Germany!

Discovered in 1868 by railway workers, Dechenhöhle has attracted over 14 million visitors up to date. The cave is famous for its stalactite formations and its prehistoric finds. Stalagmites and stalactites, fragile stone curtains and glittering crystals in small pools of water accompany you on your way through the cave. Passing the organ chamber, the pool of the meremaids and the palm tree column you reach emperors hall with the majestic stalagmite-emperor, possibly the most beautiful stalagmite formation in a German cave.

The standard tour, the children´s birthday, the treasure hunting, the event tour, the lantern tour at Holy Martin in november, the christmas tour with candle light and music in december or a concert, the dechencave will fascinate you by its magic.

In the cave museum you can see the recently discovered cave bear baby skeleton and other findings. Exhibitions report the hidden world of caves
