Further Highlights in the West

You'll also find many great gay and lesbian hotspots in the Ruhr area close by. Düsseldorf, as the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia has a lot to offer. The Musk Club in the old town has been a hip and trendy bar with great party highlights for 40 years and the gay bar "Comeback" serves as a place to meet new people. For more great locations visit gay-web.de.
The "Burgtorclub" in Dortmund is a 34-year-old bar and is one of the most popular gay bars in the city because of its gay shows. Also you should visit the "Zaubermaus" where many theme parties care for a good atmosphere.
"What a difference a night makes"- this is the slogan of the "Club David" in Essen. It is open until 5'clock in the morning and one of the most famous gaybars in the middle of the city. The "Nightlounge" is not a normal bar-you will notice that fast. Every night there is a event like talent shows, spaghetti nights and many more..
The "COXX" in Bochum calls itself as "the livingroom of Bochums' gayscene". Enjoy the cosy atmosphere! In the "Bistro TeddyPierre" there are every Friday special 'Gay & Grey'-nights where you can meet like-minded people. Either you can sit in the nice bistro or in the new beer garden in summertime.

Magazines and Information

As one of the most important German media cities, Cologne certainly benefits from the creativity attributed to gays and lesbians. As early as 1965, the Cologne-based Westdeutsche Rundfunk (WDR) was the first German television channel to broadcast a documentary about homosexuals.

The scene magazines rik and BOX  will provide you with a huge variety of events, parties and everything queer happening in the city.
