Berlin's Events and Parades

There are some great events and parades taking place in Berlin all year long. The Teddy Queer Film Award which is part of the International Berlin Film Festival marks the start of the annual party season in February.
Gay Pride Week - one week of gay and lesbian events in Berlin - takes place every year in June. It starts traditionally with the lesbian and gay street festival at Nollendorfplatz Square and is the biggest event of its kind in Europe.The finale and highlight of Berlin's Gay week is the Gay Pride Parade "Christopher Street Day" (CSD) celebrating gay and lesbian lifestyle. The colorful floats of the parade are escorted by hundreds of thousands along the Kurfürstendamm to the Victory Column at Brandenburg Gate.
December 1st (World AIDS Day) commemorates victims of AIDS with demonstrations and numerous events.
