"Through the Word we shall prevail." Reformation history at first hand.
26-Mar-2010 - 20-May-2010 - Lutherstadt Wittenberg (Saxony-Anhalt)

Showcase exhibition in Luther's House in Wittenberg

The historical library in Rudolstadt holds a copy of Martin Luther's translation of the Bible into German. Consisting of two volumes, it dates back to 1541 and is the median edition printed by Hans Lufft. The volumes are bound with leaves of parchment and paper between the covers and the pages of printed text. These contain hand-written notes by influential figures from the Reformation era, among them passages by Martin Luther and Philipp Melanchthon as well as Luther's son Paul and his two sons. The two Bible volumes will be on public display for the very first time at Luther's House in Wittenberg.

The exhibition has been jointly organised by the United Cathedral Chapters of Merseburg and Naumburg and the Collegiate Foundation of Zeitz, the Luther Memorials Foundation of Saxony-Anhalt and the towns of Zeitz and Rudolstadt.
