Exhibition for the 50th birthday of the East German “Sandman”
26-Mar-2010 - 24-Oct-2010 - Potsdam (Brandenburg) Exhibition

In countless families, the Sandman is still one of the most important figures in a toddler’s life. Every evening, the television figure brings back from its journeys a story and sand (for the toddlers’ eyes) for the sake of sweet dreams and a good sleep. In the extensive Sandman exhibition on the occasion of its 50th birthday, all generations will find their own “very personal” Sandman again in the Film Museum Potsdam and start a conversation with each other.

Prices:
€3.50 / €2.50

The concept of the exhibition
The exhibition relates the Sandman’s journeys and sends visitors on a journey themselves. Hasn’t everyone sometime dreamt of travelling in the Sandman’s world? The show is divided into three stages, directing the visitors in a playful way. In the first part, they discover the wonderland of the journeys of the Sandman over 50 years: faraway worlds, the fairyland, the everyday world of children … In the second room, they go on an expedition with experiments and Sandman equipment themselves. Stories and sounds guide the third, now imaginary journey: into the land of dreams. Here, families will have as much enjoyment as children from day-care centres and primary school groups.
