Luther's Wedding – the Wittenberg town festival

Every year on the second weekend in June, Lutherstadt Wittenberg celebrates the anniversary of the wedding of Martin Luther and Katharina von Bora with lots of music, travelling entertainers, historical artisans and a grand procession.
The church reformer married the runaway nun on 13 June 1525.
"Luther's Wedding" ranks as one of the finest town festivals in Germany, welcoming more than 100,000 visitors to authentic historical sites associated with the Reformation. It forms part of the diverse and extensive programme of the Wittenberg Summer of Culture.
