Travel with Service Animals

For traveling with seeing-eye dogs and other service animals, the same rules apply as for all other animals, e. g. all dogs need a transponder/ microchip (ISO 11784 or ISO 11785) or a tattoo for identification. Furthermore, your dog must be vaccinated against rabies.

Please visit the website of the German Embassy for a complete list of requirements and make sure you download and fill out the Veterinary Certificate.
If your trip includes other European countries besides Germany, click here for further information.

All animals are subject to a security screening exiting and entering the country. Please visit the website of the Transportation Security Administration for a detailed explanation of security procedures in the USA.
