Discover one of the most beautiful travel destinations of the North: the region of the Baltic Sea fjord Schlei. The Schlei can be regarded as the core of the region which is situated approximately one hour’s drive north of Hamburg. With its length of 43 km it is Schleswig-Holstein’s longest fjord. Its shores are seemed with romantic villages, the port Kappeln and Schleswig with its famous museums and last but not least Arnis, Germany’s smallest town. And also the long sandy beaches of the Gelting bay are only a stone’s throw away from the fjord.
We welcome you to Schleswig- the cultural capital of the region! At the Hotel F.Ritz you will be able to enjoy an artistically decorated room in a contemporary design created by the owner and architect herself. Further you will wine and dine in the Fasanerie of the Hotel Waldschlößchen. And thus the fine art of the gourmet cuisine represents another facet of your artistic weekend. In addition to this the package also includes a visit to “Kleines Traumcafe” offering delicious home-made tartes and cakes.
Also the daytime activities are culture and arts themed: visit Schloss Gottorf and the special exhibition on the Northern German handicrafts and admire the artworks made of silver and ceramic as well as turnery and woven works. And those who would like to find out more about goldwork have the opportunity to visit “Goldschmiede Jess”in Schleswig’s old town and watch a goldsmith at work.

The first stop on your 2-day maritime discovery tour is the modern 3-star "Hotel Wiking", in the city centre. From here it`s only a stone`s throw to the shopping arcades, the inner city and the bay. With the FördeCARD you are able to use Kiel`s busses and fjord-ferries for 24 hours. It also gives you discount entry to many museums - such as the Naval Memorial or the U995 museum-submarine - both in Laboe, near Kiel.
One particularly memorable experience is the city sailing tour aboard a cutter from the Camp 24|sieben sailing camp. You will sail out into the Kiel Fjord, and  get to discover the city from its prettiest side  - seeing it from the water! You can then enjoy lunch or dinner at the "Fördeblick" restaurant. From here you will have a wonderful view of the fjord and can watch all the big ships entering the Kiel Canal's locks.

Back in the 18th century, the old seafarers already knew a thing or two about good taste, seeing as they brought rum to Flensburg. In the harbour town`s heyday, there were over 200 rum houses in Flensburg. But it`s not just rum that characterises Flensburg`s drinking preferences. The locals are also loyal fans of the "Flensburger Brauerei" brewery and its beloved "Flens" beers.
Come and seek out the secrets of Flensburg`s golden drinks for yourself! Check them out, smell them, taste them – with Flensburg`s beautiful Old Town as a backdrop, you too can get to know and love the Fjord town`s mouth-watering drinks.
On a visit to the "Flensburger Brauerei", you can learn more about the art of brewing and the many different contents of their legendary "flop-top" bottles. Afterward you`ll have the opportunity to try their various beers. Perhaps you`ll want to take a few bottles home with you?
In the evening you will attend a tea and rum seminar in the small and cosy "Hökerei". It promises to be an enjoyable evening featuring history, manufacturing and tasting of tea and rum.

A former cow shed at "Schäferhof Dircks" has been refurbished to create four brightly decorated holiday homes. The actual premises are fenced in, providing you with the peace of mind you need to relax while your children romp around and play freely. You can of course get to know the farm animals while here: guinea pigs, cute little lambs and a pony. The farm covers 8800 m², and features a large garden and old fruit trees. Its playground can be easily viewed from all the holiday homes.
