Kurt Weill Festival, Dessau
Back in 1926 Kurt Weill proclaimed jazz to be the "rhythm of our times". It comes as no surprise, therefore, that this genre was a big influence on the music of this Dessau composer. Under the motto "Round about Weill", the upcoming Kurt Weill Festival places jazz under the spotlight, with one of the world's leading jazz musicians, trombonist Nils Landgren, as our designated Artist-in-Residence. Audiences will have the opportunity to hear his take on Weill's music at a concert in the main hall of Roßlau's Elbewerk plant, as well as at a further concert featuring the Anhaltische Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Golo Berg.
