Sail into a unique realm of nature and culture

View from the lake to the Marmor Palace of Potsdam
With no locks and few bridges, the stretch of water between Berlin and Brandenburg is ideal for lengthy sailing trips. Potsdam and Brandenburg's intricate mosaic of rivers, lakes and canals is in idyllic natural surroundings, characterised by tiny, sleepy villages and expanses of marshland. Culture lovers are well served by two fascinating cities. Drop anchor at Potsdam and discover the Palaces and Parks of Potsdam, declared a UNESCO site of world cultural and natural heritage in 1990. Enjoy the rococo Sanssouci Palace and Potsdam's Dutch Quarter with its quirky shops and restaurants. And visit the town of Brandenburg, which is located on three beautiful islands and has some remarkable historical architecture.
If the active life is more your style, Scharmützel Lake is fabulous for sailing.
