Restaurant Dieter Müller at Schlosshotel Lerbach, Bergisch Gladbach
Restaurant Dieter Müller is in Schlosshotel Lerbach in Bergisch Gladbach, a stately hotel set in a huge park with trees and a lake. When the historic castle was converted into an Althoff Hotel, Dieter Müller and his wife were given a say in the interior design, and the result is a refined, tasteful and welcoming restaurant with a total of 65 covers divided between a bright, elegant conservatory and a manorial dining room. Guests who eat à la carte are spoilt for choice, with a menu extending to around 30 dishes. There are also two set menus, including the "amuse bouche menu", a first in the annals of gastronomy serving 5 courses consisting of 19 small dishes - a dream come true for all gourmets. The wine list is extensive, but sommelier Sebastian Georgi is on hand to provide expert advice when it comes to choosing the right German or international vintage from the cellar of more than 1,200 wines. Dieter Müller is particularly proud of his restaurant's cheese selection, which may possibly be the largest in the world. His mission is to increase appreciation of cheese in Germany.
After dinner, a trolley containing about 150 varieties is brought to the table. Second only to service, Dieter Müller sees his tour of the tables as a necessity. He believes the restaurant is the best place to exchange views with his guests, and guest satisfaction is his highest priority.

As an award-winning author of cookery books and with top ratings across the board for his cuisine, Dieter Müller is a great ambassador for Germany and has even had a rose named after him.
