Claus-Peter Lumpp has been chef at the Restaurant Bareiss in the hotel of the same name in Baiersbronn-Mitteltal since spring 1992. His cooking style aims to match the expectations of the guests who come to the restaurant to experience haute cuisine in the French and Italian tradition, influenced of course by the latest developments in nutrition and style. Claus-Peter Lumpp combines regional specialities with mediterranean ideas and influences. For Claus-Peter Lumpp, it goes without saying that the menu should be determined by the produce in season.

Restaurant Bareiss, Baiersbronn
The Bareiss Gourmet Restaurant is part of the hotel of the same name, and lies at the heart of the Black Forest in Baiersbronn. As well as unspoiled nature, visitors to this part of the world can enjoy excellent service and gourmet cuisine of the very highest standard. Claus-Peter Lumpp has been master chef at the Bareiss since 1992. Adored by the critics for the perfection of his craftmanship, he has developed his own signature style; aromatic depth bordering on opulence, combined with pared-down elegance in visual effect and digestibility. Claus-Peter Lumpp's skills, coupled with the stylishness and class of "art de la table", promise gourmands an infinitely pleasurable dining experience in a setting that some regard as the most beautiful and elegant in gourmet Germany. The warm hospitality experienced in the restaurant is typical of the whole hotel, which was established by Hermine Bareiss in 1951 as the Kurhotel Mitteltal and renamed after the family in 1992. The motto has remained the same for more than 50 years; What the guest wants, the guest shall have!
