Shopping - made in Germany

Shop window vis-à-vis the town hall in Munich © Heinz Gebhardt
Shopping - made in Germany is a wonderful experience. Germany has a huge range of different places to shop, from the traditional atmosphere of its town centres to more than 400 shopping malls, each like a world of its own. The one thing they all have in common is a colourful mix of shops, boutiques, restaurants and cafés. And nearly all Germany's towns and cities have pedestrianised areas with large department stores and shopping arcades.

Christmas Shopping with Käthe Wohlfahrt

German Christmas Market
For 40 years "Käthe Wohlfahrt" has offered the largest selection of traditional German Christmas decorations, such as high quality pyramids, handmade incense smokers, nutcrackers and Christmas tree ornaments in Christmas stores open year-round.
The company's new trademark "Käthe's Originals" combines masterfully hand-painted figurines and ornaments designed in the Rothenburg Christmas Workshop and items from traditional brand manufactures, who exclusively design special motifs for Käthe Wohlfahrt. These pieces will not be available at any other vendor worldwide. All items stand for traditional, exceptional handcrafting, cultivation of old German traditions and the use of high quality materials.
The company's main store "Weihnachtsdorf" (Christmas Village) in Rothenburg o.d.T., Bavaria, lets all your Christmas dreams come true: some 30,000 individual items are displayed around a Franconian indoor marketplace with a 16 foot high white Christmas tree decorated with more than 1,000 glass ornaments. Shopping in this store is an exciting experience at any time of the year - not only for Christmas items but also for German souvenirs! Käthe Wohlfahrt offers worldwide shipping, tax-free shopping and accepts all common credit cards and currencies.
