During a collecting tradition of almost 600 years, the counts and prince electors of Hessen-Kassel created a unique landscape for art and culture in the current host city for the Documenta. Initiated in 2004 with the project "museum landscape Kassel", their legacy gets a future-proof housing. In the centre of the restructuring and expansion of the facilities are the Stately Museums of Kassel and the landscape parks.
