Frankfurt on the Main: Museum embankment

One of the most important museum locations in Germany and Europe stretches picturesquely along the embankment of the river Main. Almost a dozen high-class collections are to be found on the green mile, housed in former patrician mansions and modern buildings of renowned architects. Of particular importance are the Städelsche Kunstinstitut, the German Filmmuseum, the German museum for Architecture, the Liebighaus (sculptures) as well as the museums for Applied Arts, for Communication and for World Cultures.
